Safmarine appointed TMT as its general agent and established the service in Mainland China in year 2000. Safmarine is developing its capability at a fast pace by having three regional head offices in Qingdao (North), Shanghai (East), and Shenzhen (South). And, a Greater China Area office is based in Shanghai to overall responsible for Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia and Taiwan.

Safmarine is a well-known and respected name in international shipping. The company has grown significantly since its formation in 1946 and is today one of the leading north/south operators offering container and breakbulk shipping services to many parts of the world. In 1999, Safmarine became part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. Many new routes have been added to its service networks and further expand the coverage well into the east/west trade lanes.

Safmarine operates a fleet of owned and chartered vessels transporting in excess of 900 000 teu annually with a diverse range of products offered. It is today represented in more than 130 countries throughout the world and has more than 1200 dedicated Safmariners to provide personalized shipping solutions.
